RESPONSABILITY

At Gir Gir we are committed to re-think how materials are used and disposed, approaching the contemporary problem of waste in a way that give materials a new opportunity.

We firmly believe that sustainability is a responsibility for everyone, and we are proud to contribute to the preservation of natural resources.

We know that we are all responsible for our way of life, the choices we make and the impact of those choices in the world. We focus on design, quality materials that will last generations, eco-friendly manufacturing practices with extra attention to the well-being of local people and communities.

In this first collection, we have partnered with a local company that often deals with large quantities of unused waste, most of which ends up in landfills, resulting in significant waste. Our mission is to breathe new life into these residues, transforming them into pieces that democratize unique materials to every household.

Our entire manufacturing process is carefully designed to make the most of every material waste, avoiding any additional waste during production.

Reducing waste of natural resources is crucial for the preservation of our planet and the quality of life for future generations. By valuing these discarded materials and transforming them into objects of beauty and functionality, we are promoting a circular economy and demonstrating that it is possible to combine sophisticated design with environmental consciousness.

We believe that every material has a story to tell, and we strive to preserve that uniqueness in our pieces.

CO2 FOOTPRINT

Our sustainability strategy commits us to minimizing our CO2 footprint by sourcing local materials and making use of local workshops. Our goal is to make collections both ecological and finantial sustainable for everyone involved.

DURABILITY

We aim to make products made for generations, in terms of both ecological quality and timeless design. We believe objects are made to be part of our heritage.

We pride ourselves on our practice of slow living, producing small batches of quality products depending on the waste of the industry and never forcing new materials into new products. The culture we are developing represents the complete opposite of ‘the throwaway society’. “Slow living” is an integrated part of our business model, and it's something we try to implement in our partners, because this is required in order to be a sustainable business with focus on inovative "re-fresh" resources.
